Totally agree with saves :)

INB4 the next episode but I bought and beat Shenmue 3 in a week and it's a good game, John is wrong.

Just saying a massive point people miss about Taco Bell isn't that it's the goat in taste or quality but that it's as good as it is for sometimes less than half the cost of others places for the same or more food, while also being surprisingly accommodating to different dietary restrictions like vegetarian.

jasonfails

man that's exactly what I was just thinking

Healbord

Fun fact, there is no more Taco Bell in Montreal or in Quebec as a whole for about two years now.

I loved the conversation about nihilistic foods overall, however the tone of it betrays a (popular) misunderstanding of Nihilism. Nihilism is not the darkness of a snuffed torch and blindfolded eyes, it's the darkness of absence of light. It is not cruelty, it's the absence of comfort. It is because of this that I say that the most Nihilistic dish is not Balut, Chicken Omelette, or Sad Lasagna, it would be a dish who's sole goal is full dietary satisfaction with little to no consideration for enjoyment or consequences. As such, I propose that the most nihilistic food ever made is the Dilberito; A purchasable frozen "food" item created in by the late and far-from-great Scott Adams, creator of the comic strip Dilbert, made to resemble a burrito in form factor while providing all of your daily macros and vitamins. It, from accounts I've read, tasted like effectively nothing, had the negligible texture of rice-in-tortilla, and reportedly caused flatulence so loud and vile that it would make office work near impossible for your entire floor. It is an item devoid of all ethos besides fulfilling the role of "Nutritional Item" (NOT "food"), and as such is the epitome of nihlistic dining.

Is Intermission Lounge just a monthly Q+A session now? I dont mind too much, it just wasn't what I thought I was signing up for. It also feels like there's not much point in doing the $5 membership, if that's really the plan going forward. No hate intended, just an observation

James Downey

For the meat thing for a very long time in America Tacobell was not allowed to call their stuff "meat". It was legally cornmeal.

Alex Smith

Tacobell isn't Texmex. This is like the people who think Panda Express is a specific type of Chinese food.

Dream Fighting Game is Hanna Barbera VS Capcom

Re: buying into the hype, I also feel like it's different in adulthood because there's so much stuff that you can potentially spend money or time on, and you're constantly getting bombarded with ads for all of it all at once. As a kid it was a lot easier to spend half the year fixated on, for example, that new Pokemon game coming out. You had all of $30 to your name and you weren't going to blow it on something you didn't already like, and you had never even heard of Golden Sun so of course it wasn't going to be that. Meanwhile as an adult, Legends Z-A is on your radar, but it comes out in a year so why daydream about it when you still haven't played Baldur's Gate 3 yet, and then you need to knock out some of your backlog of impulse buys that you're starting to feel guilty about, and by the way this cool-looking thing called Clair Obscur is getting a lot of buzz so let's check that out, and oh shit has the backlog gotten bigger how has it gotten bigger, and now Legends Z-A is out in a week and you haven't had time to get hyped and you've seen a ton of gameplay footage and it just looks okay so you skip it for now and move onto the next thing that you'll barely have time for.
