August Progress

It's been a while since I wrote one of these. I have been working a lot on the game lately and progress is ongoing. I think the next version will be ready by the next month.

If you follow me on Twitter you might have seen one of the new enemies in the gardens, the Alraune. Bam! She is a playful one! She will make you feel good with her thighs. I really love how she turned out and I can't wait for you guys to see her in action! She will also have a CG!

I was also making some new tiles and graphics for the new area. This area is completely optional and will be rather small.

There will be a labyrinth here! I hope I didn't make it too obnoxious, haha. Definitely wasn't the intention, but I'll be seeing how you guys find it when I release it.

I have also reworked the footstep sounds in the game. There is now more than one type of surface in the world and both the player and the enemies will make different step sounds depending on what type of surface they are on. The SFX is also better quality than it was before and I think it adds a lot to the game making it feel more polished.

I have also added text tick sounds to the text that is scrolling when the enemy is talking. The point of this is to help the player imagine the pitch of the voice of the enemy that is currently talking. This means that these tick sounds change depending on the enemy. For example, the mummy has a really low-pitched voice while someone like the Imp has a high-pitched voice. This can be turned off in the menu if you don't like it, I definitely think it adds to the game as well, but I can imagine some people not liking the feature.

As a little eater egg and thanks to those, who have drawn fanarts for the game, I have included them and scattered them around the mansion in a picture frame. I really like how this turned out. Try to find all of them. If you ever wanted to make a fanart I can probably include yours as well!

A problem has also occurred. The artist that I have been working with has stopped taking requests. This is really sad because now I either can't add more CGs to the game, or I'll have to find a new artist, but then the art style within the game won't be consistent. I'm not yet sure how to solve this problem, I'll probably try to find another artist, but it kind of bothers me to not have a consistent art style.

And lastly, next month's patch will be the one before the very last patch, which will also mark the release of the Steam version! I'm really excited! I have never released a game on a big marketplace like that and it has been a dream of mine since I was a child! I'm still not quite sure about the details of the release, but I will share them with you as soon as I can.

After the Steam release, I will try to find someone and translate the whole game into Japanese and also release it on DLSite for the Japanese audience as well. And that will mark the end of Drain Mansion. I will finally close the development of the game for good. It was a long ride, but we are nearing its end and I'm really excited!

And as always, thank you for reading and supporting my project! Couldn't have done this without your support.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I do plan on making other games, but probably in a different style.

It's going to be disappointing seeing this come to an end. I've been on and off with this game's development but I'm in for the long haul now for sure. Do you ever plan on doing another game after this at all, more specifically another side-scroller game with a similar style cg?

Can you beat her?
