Treasure Island - Engine Update, EP10, Short Clips, Poll

This week is a rather short (but still naughty 😏) update ☺️
Treasure Island:
We started upgrading the Engine to 5.5, which is a very big task. So far, we have found a lot of cool stuff, but also issues.
The good stuff: things are more optimized! As example here are 2 screenshots of before and after for Lighting complexity. Everything that is NOT blue, is bad. Blue is great. So that´s a big advantage from the older Version. We have to run tests on older Systems though. On our fast machines there is very little improvement, but it might be a lot better on older/slower hardware.
The bad stuff: we have to rework a lot on the characters. The hair & skin shaders are messed up completely. Which is very bad, because we did not change anything and you might assume an engine upgrade should not alter anything on such basic things... Well...
Also Shadows throughout the level are all of a sudden a lot darker, Exposure is messed up and so on. So there is a lot to tweak and fix from our end. We are currently also collecting input from Plugin providers about possible fixes for their products in 5.5.
Episode 10:
I had some corrupted Files I needed to rescue... I spent almost all week with that. Very annoying. Next week I plan to have the final Edit so I can give it to the Voice-Artists.

Actually, we have quite a lot of poses that were not in the Episodes in the game, but I get your point. The main output can´t be movies I am afraid. Because it really is not sustainable. They are pirated instantly and the sales are really bad. And I can only sell them on A3D because any other platform is even worse. Like selling stuff on Pornhub is a joke. You get a couple of Cents/1000 views. I can consider myself lucky to reach break even after 1-2 years for Episodes. And organizing a team (and paying it) in combination with unforeseeable sales for Episodes is not an option. Games are a lot more sustainable for us at this point. Also because we can constantly improve/add stuff. Episodes are done once they are done. I will keep creating Episodes, but at a smaller scale, as you suggested. And now more Prequels, I also prefer to move forward with the Story. And thanks a lot for the honest feedback and for sticking around! 🥰

I'm still here and don't plan to leave, but I do admit I am far less engaged with the game compared to the movies. I'm here for some cinematic storytelling and fucking. So far the game seem to be just extra homework to get to some sex scenes, and the positions are just stuff from previous movies, so nothing really new or really exciting. I was really engaged into seeing where the story was going, but basically since ep 7 it's been only prequel content, which is also somewhat frustrating. I still feel your main output should be movies, but you know your finances better. I recommend splitting movie stories into smaller chunks so that you expose yourselves less by not investing too much into a single piece of media that can be pirated. Again, not feedback for a person that wants to leave...
