Today's update is going to be short, since we are busy working on polishing Treasure Island and Cleaning/Testing Motion Capture for Episode 10.
We finished the first batch of Motion Capture Animation! You can see in the Header a very first retargeting from one of the animations. It´s still with the Mocap & Regular Skeleton, no fixes or polishing yet, just cleaned Mocap-Data (so there is no jittering)! Note the blank staring of Eyes, wrong neck angles, weird Fingers, etc. That's all going to be fixed in a later pass.
Right now we are working with Temp-Audio from Marie for all the Characters. That way I can go through the full production without having to wait for the other Voice-Over Artists to deliver. Smart 😉
Next Steps:
Once all the Body-Mocap is recorded, cleaned, retargeted to the Characters and polished, I will move on to Facial Mocap.
Once the Facial Mocap is done, retargeted and polished, I will bring both Body- and Facial Mocap together for the final Shots
Next is bringing it all to Unreal, setting up the Set for Rendering & creating the final Camera Shots
Then Rendering & finalizing the Edit. Once that is done, I will give it to the other Voice-Over Artists and we will get the final ones from them.
Meanwhile I will have Music & SoundFX done. We will by then probably also have the Trailer ready
Once all is done: Release on Affect3D! The Release date should be End of June/Beginning of July 🤞
An example of polishing in Treasure Island is the Diving Quest/Tutorial with Barbie & Joe. It was just a placeholder before and we are reworking it to be more intuitive, stable & fun 🥳😊

Other than that:
We created a modular, very easy to use & apply "Race" system, and the Swimming Tutorial is a first test of it. With our core System redone, we can rather easily create cool new features that are stable and fast to use & test. The new Swimming Tutorial is just the first example of that. And it´s so cool! Like in the Video you can also see the automated Trackers that show you where you need to go next, and so on. And all the under-the-hood technology is super lean. We love it 🥰
We are eagerly waiting for the other Coder to return from his Holidays. He will then help resolving some authentication & save/load issues
Bug fixing, polishing & improving the hell out of Chapter 1 for the Release on Steam! The plan is April 4th. Just the Steam reviewers are a bit slow so we can´t 100% if it´s going to happen. We should know more next week.
Affect3D will be shortly after Steam. We want to focus first on having everything working on Steam because it´s more crucial to meet their terms & conditions. Affect3D is easier because we know the guys there 😎
On Patreon we will anyway always have the most recent build. Probably next week we also have a new one for you guys!
