Every character has a color scheme, always. DQ is no exception, so here's a few characters I thought would be interesting to talk about.
For Loraile I went with crayon-like colors (green, red, blue and yellow) with a nice white dress to make it look like a childish drawing on a coloring album. A bit of a stretch but I thought they'd fit her happy-go-lucky attitude.
For Justina and Nimbus, the color purple is a big cliché for witch clothes so here ya go. The hair color change is due to the transformation reducing the melatonin level in her body. Same goes for her eyes, going from dark brown to blue.
Cornelia del Corvo is mostly black because "Corvo" means crow. Her cape has a bit of a feathery texture feel, as if she had crow-like feathers on her clothing. It's a tiny detail, but you can spot the fuzzy outlines of her cape in almost every panel where it's visible.

A crow would also explain why she's always squawking like a crow...that and the other reason, you know with the spell. Still it never occurred to be that's why Lore's clothes didn't match. She really does look like a crayon drawing.
