usually things don't sink in so fast for me when watching something new haha so yea I missed it totally. I don't remember it being mentioned at all 😅 thank you for pointing that out 🥰

ohh I see!! So that's what the guru meant by leaving all attachment to this world. he can love and have friends but not choose them over saving the world if the choice ever came up, he needs to be willing to sacrifice them for the world. it's sad still to choose something like that but I get it 😭 thank you for the clarification 💖

Yeah, the Avatar cycle was explained in episode 3, which might be too early cuz a lot of reactors don't seem to catch how it works. Sokka even jokes that he didn't like Aang at first because "you used to be a firebender".

something to think about going into the Avatar state. the avatars role is to keep balance in the world, so lets say the water nations became the next big enemy to the world and they captured the avatars wife or husband, since the avatar can be male or female. to end the war the avatar had to choose to go to the north pole where the water nation was going to summon a great flood to destroy all the other nations but the avatars lover and friends and family was captured in the south pole to be used as hostages and they had to choose between saving the world or saving their lover and family. in the eyes of the Avatar spirit the most important people to this current avatar is just a few lives out of millions of generations. so letting go of attachments to the world didnt mean leaving your lover or never finding love but that if the choice had to be made you had to be willing to let go of anything, only if you have to, for the greater good of the world. but this is nice cause Aangs misunderstanding of this shows that he really is just a kid but also how much pressure the fate of the world has on him.
