Weapon (warhammer), rare (requires attunement)
You can make an ability check using smith's tools with this hammer without needing a heat source, even if the check would normally require one. A target hit with this weapon takes an extra 1d6 fire damage from the attack. If you roll a 6 on the fire damage's die and the target is made of metal or in physical contact with a metal object, the target must also make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the target takes 2d6 fire damage and must drop anything made of metal that it's holding if it can. On a success, the target takes half as much fire damage and doesn't drop anything.
The hammer has 3 charges and regains all expended charges daily at dawn. Once per turn, when you deal fire damage to a target with this hammer, you can expend 1 of its charges (no action required) to maximize one of the fire damage dice, potentially triggering its additional effects.
All metal remembers the fire of its making, a sleeping spark that echoes at once the forge and the smelter and the burning heart of the world.
All one need do is awaken that spark, and that remembrance is reforged.
