Wondrous item, very rare (requires attunement)

This broomstick has a hollow end in the center of its brush. It functions identically to a normal broom of flying, except that it can also be held like a musket. While holding or sitting atop the broomstick, you can use an action to speak a special command word to cause it to emit an explosion in a 30-foot cone, originating from its brush. Each creature within the cone must succeed on a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or take 2d8 fire damage, or 4d8 if it's within 15 feet of the broom. If you're riding the broom, you also immediately move 30 feet in the opposite direction of the cone, without provoking opportunity attacks.

A creature that rolls a 1 on the Dexterity saving throw is also affected by the hex spell for 1 minute as if you cast it (no concentration required); the creature makes Dexterity checks and Dexterity saving throws with disadvantage for the duration of the spell. The spell ends early if another creature is holding the broom.
