A young man, dressed in gray, stands upon a wooden crate. A small but raucous crowd has gathered around him. The speaker’s voice, passionate and clear, carries over the din.
He speaks of criminal waste, of magistorial overreach, of impending political sea change. Some jeer, but more still applaud. “Big things,” he promises, “are about to happen.” There are others like him. They call themselves Stonethrowers, and in the City of Glass, that is a very dangerous thing indeed.
Aelorynne is a great wonder, but fragile. It depends upon the guilds to execute their artisanal duties in good faith and to be honorable stewards of the city’s founding ideal. The system did not account for a man like Brann Vigotva: the first Stonethrower. Brann was no artisan, but a liar and a braggart. He claims to be “a cleansing fire to the rot of the guilds.” Now, he stands poised to win the very office he decries.
If Brann Vigotva succeeds, Aelorynne—this fragile wonder—might shatter under its own weight.
Aelorynne is a thriving city founded on the hard work of the artisans who've built it. Organized by district and guild, the City of Glass is an ever-changing work of art: artisans compete for bids to secure government contracts to beautify their city and renovate outdated spaces, all the while using the chance to hide the work of their competitors. But behind this classic struggle of dog-eat-dog competition is a worrisome development: a rising political figurehead hell-bent on dismantling the established systems in place to secure himself a position as self-made king. Will you use the opportunity to capitalize on chaos and commit twist-heavy heists, learn the tools of a new trade, or stop the cult-like spread of a criminal's political rhetoric?
This setting includes a new Cleric subclass: the Water Domain. Command water to create holy water on a whim, enhancing it with healing powers and elevating its powers against fiends and the undead! Better yet, follow the nature of water and change your state of being: will you become unwavering as a solid, fluid as liquid, or hard to grasp as gas?
Speaking of subclasses, here's a reminder that we also have official subclass playtest sessions on the Discord! So please feel welcome to sign up for them and get early looks and hands-on time with them! As always, further revisions will be made here with published updates as they're released!
17 pages of city setting, its people, crafting, and the powers that be throughout!
Endure or thwart the ill-gotten rise to power of a charismatic tyrant!
Bonus maps donated by Cze & Peku!
7 new creature statblocks!
New subclass: the cleric's Water Domain! Command water to restore or destroy, leaving only what you desire in your wake!
