Heroic Ideas — Choose 2 community item ideas to be made!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1) Gorget of Resilient Heritage — This scaled gorget for half-orcs with a multicolored quartz set in its center. While attuned to it, you gain temporary hit points at the start of your turn. You can also choose a biome to change the gem and your eye color, or deal extra elemental weapon damage that matches the selected terrain.

2) Starmetal Blowgun — A metal blowgun, forged from metals that fell from the sky. You gain a bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it and it deals extra piercing damage due to it's magnetic acceleration. The blowgun is loaded with a magnetized needle that is drawn back into the blowgun after every attack, ignoring the loading property. Once per turn, you can attempt to cause a creature hit by it to be outlined by an aurora-like light, as if by the faerie fire spell.

3) Threads of Life and Death — A bowstring made from twisted black thread that causes any arrow fired from it to deal bonus necrotic damage. When you kill a creature with an arrow shot by this bowstring, regain hit points equal to the damage dealt.

4) Boneash Spear — A short stabbing spear whose blade has been forged with animal remains folded into it. Each day at dawn, you can choose an animal to gain a bonus from, such as increased movement speed, gaining a climbing speed, or gaining temporary hit points.

5) Railrunner Maul — A massive maul made from the parts of a destroyed mining machine that blinds a creature with scalding steam when you roll a 20 on an attack roll. The maul has charges and can be used to summon spectral rails that grant you bonus while while moving along them, such as dealing additional damage after moving along the rails, or ignoring difficult terrain that the rails cross.

6) Slumber Club — A club fashioned from the wood of a tree that resides in a dream god's forest. When you hit a creature with this club, it must make a save else fall unconscious for 1 minute, or until someone wakes them up.

7) Narrator's Bookmark — This red leather bookmark has a rounded end and is creased in the middle. When placed inside an open book you can speak its command word, causing it to animate like a tongue, reading the book aloud in the language it was written and continues until it finishes the page.
