Hey heroes!
Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.
You can submit your ideas on Discord, too! Come join us in the #patron-item-workshop channel!
You may recognize some returning item suggestions! Items can be renominated and re-drawn for weekly polls following a week-long cooldown.
Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!
Ideas
1) Chilly Flakes — A thin piece of candy shaped like a snowflake with a minty aroma. When you eat the candy your mouth becomes fresher for 1 minute and you can blow a breath of cool air toward a liquid to freeze it.
2) Brumal Hat — A magical top hat that allows you to change your form into a snowperson who can tolerate cold temperatures, is indistinguishable from an ordinary snowperson while motionless, though you are unable to move.
3) Scuffle Scarf — A long, patchwork scarf interwoven with enchanted thread. While wearing it, you have increased tolerance for low temperatures. You can also send the scarf to restrain a creature near you.
4) Glitter Globe — This glass orb is the size of your hand and holds a visage of two pixies having a snowball fight. The orb can be used as a spellcasting focus and snowflakes appear to fall from it when you cast a spell. Holding the globe can change the scene as if by the silent image spell for 24 hours.
5) Frost Thorn Gauntlets — These gauntlets are made from tough, thorny vines. While wearing them you can cause your unarmed strikes to deal cold damage. When you grapple a creature, you can expend a charge to wrap them in the vines, restraining them, and dealing cold damage each turn they remain restrained.
6) Morwen’s Merry Mantle — A festive cape with wintery decoration of snowflakes, mistletoe, and flying reindeer stitched into its fabric. While wearing the cape, you are protected from extreme cold, and can spend an action to pull one of the reindeer off to cast the find steed spell, summoning a flying reindeer that uses the elk statistics.
7) Keen Coals — These ever-smoldering coals are found in a sturdy pouch. When a keen coal is added to a forge or open flame, it will remain hot for 8 hours. Any creature that takes a long rest near this heated flame gains 10 temporary hit points. You can also press a keen coal against a weapon to grant a +1 to attack and damage rolls for 8 hours.
Keep on adventuring!
