Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

Ideas

1) Scarecrow Staff — This staff was fashioned from an old scarecrow, causing birds to avoid it at all costs. You can expending some of its charges to cast spells such as fear or phantasmal killer, and can plant the staff into the ground to cast the alarm spell around the surrounding area.

2) Icon of the Illustrious — A circlet of woven mist and your skin appears to be stone or metal while wearing it. Your highest ability score and maximum for that score increases. Additionally you gain a natural AC. You can expend its charges to roll a d10 and add the number to an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. Additionally, you can petrify yourself for a brief time to gain the benefits of a short rest.

3) Slumberkeeper’s Staff — A slender staff topped with a crescent moon and an hourglass hanging down its center, sand always falling within. You can't be surprised while sleeping. You can expend the staff's charges to cast various spells from it. Additionally, when you can expend a use of Channel Divinity to protect your party from dream manipulation and nightmares. When an ally rolls a death saving throw you can put them into a special slumber, preventing them from dying but can only be awoken by a greater restoration spell.

4) Greatest Punchline Ever — A red plastic ball that you can place over your nose. While wearing it you know the vicious mockery cantrip. When you cast the spell in this way you deal increased damage, and can expend its charge to attempt the funniest joke in the world to harm your enemies.

5) Spider's Rest — A hammock made from spider silk, it can be hung from any two points ten feet apart. Someone laying in it can wrap themselves in a comfortable cocoon to guarantee they won't fall out.

6) Scroll of Cute Wounds — Originally a scroll of cure wounds that was shredded and reassembled with crude heart drawing added. When you use this scroll, you can stabilize a dying creature. The target also regains 1 hit point every minute for 10 minutes.

7) Carrion Keeper’s Circlet — Dark feathers adorn this iron band. While attuned, your eyes grow pale and sharp like a vulture and your wisdom score increases. It has charges that can be expended to cast hold person, or spend additional charges to affect non-human targets. You can also focus your senses to detect the distance and direction of a creature near you that is missing hit points. Attempting to move away from an injured creature requires a Wisdom saving throw.
