Hey heroes!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1) Jade Spearwillow Branch — A spear fashioned from a branch taken from a magical willow tree. It has charges that can be used to grow an extra branch from the spear when you miss an attack, and make a new attack against the target. The new branch becomes leafy and falls to the ground, where a nonmagical willow tree later grows.

2) Aberrant Palate Parasite — A purple creature contained in a jar that binds to you when attuned, replacing your tongue. You can speak Deep Speech and it allows you to cast a variety of enchantment spells like enthrall or modify memory.

3) Scrivener's Loupe — This magical loupe confers a knack for preserving and copying arcane texts. You can use it to store a spell you've cast from a spell scroll to reuse once again later, or be able to copy it. It also makes it easier to cast or copy spells from spell scrolls that would normally be higher than what you could cast.

4) Holy Eclipse — This double sided axe has a sun and moon on each blade, and can be used with a cleric's Channel Divinity to make it glow for 1 minute. During that time, the axe deals additional radiant or necrotic damage, depending of which side of the weapons you choose to use.

5) Scroll of the True Self — A scroll to make your outer appearance match your inner one. You can use the scroll to cast the alter self spell using the Change Appearance option. When the spell ends the appearance becomes permanent.

6) Potentate's Chess Set — A lavish chess set that provides grows in power the more pieces you collect, allowing you to cast a wide variety of spells, including dominate person, commune, tiny hut, antilife shell, and fly.

7) Divination Needles — A pack of 10 needles that glow with arcane glyphs when loaded into a blowgun. These needles deal no damage and do not alert the target or reveal your location when fired. When you hit a target with one or more of them as part of the Attack action, a variety of effects can happened, such as: a creature is affected by the hunter's mark spell, the scrying spell, or has disadvantage on attack rolls.
