Alternate Thumbnails for Elf Barmaiden/Valley Girl Witch

Elf Barmaiden was a character I did long before the Hero series was conceived. The original purpose of her was to be an interviewer of sorts to different characters in her fantasy world. After the Hero series had a couple videos out, I had thought about ways to bring her into the story, but shelved her appearance until I had a plot I was satisfied with.

In the original Barmaiden series, she showed a longing to leave the tavern she worked at and explore the outside world. She would rummage through the starring characters belongings and ask them questions about what kind of adventures they had had and would have in the future. But in the Hero version of her, I played her as a little older and wiser compared to original version. With the Hero feeling down as a result of his confrontation with the Demon Lord's Acolyte, I felt the Hero needed someone to talk to who could also offer genuine advice. Up until this point in the Hero's story, he hadn't really been given a direction other then "Defeat The Demon Lord." As it turns out, that's kinda hard! So I felt it was important for that to factor into the story.

The Barmaiden touches on something I believe myself to be true: you can't wait to be told that you're the Hero, you must decide for yourself that you're the Hero. Hero's take action, and one of the defining traits of the The Hero that Must Defeat The Demon Lord is that they're always moving forward, no matter the obstacle. Do they know where they're going? Absolutely not! Will they let that stop them? Absolutely NOT!

Valley Girl Witch is so funny and I love her! Of all the Witches so far, she feels the most like "just a girl" and she's extremely fun to play! She's definitely one of the younger witches, and I think that's the reason why she gets along so well with Goth Girl and her sister to the point where she made an official crossover into the Vampire Saga. She's so chill, and it really feels like you can tell her anything and she'll take it in stride. Don't let that fool you, though! She's still an entity of godlike power, but man it's, like, who cares about that when we could be getting gelato, ya feel??

You should do it! The hardest part of writing is starting! Don’t worry about whether it’s good or not, just get it down!

For sure. I love how all the witches have a purpose in the story and the barmaid just seems like a such a chill person. And tbh all the behind the scenes inspiration and videos are making me wanna get back into creative writing.

Thanks! The witches all have their own purpose and theme I want them to follow so each one feels like their own person! And Barmaid is a sweet girl! And I’m glad you’re liking the behind the scenes info on how I get there! There’s a lot that goes into the videos so I’m glad I have a place here to talk to ya’ll about everything!

Love the creativity behind both of the characters. I love how the Valley girl witch gives off the impression of a close friend who just wants to help and relax you and how an elf barmaid is just a kind-hearted person who loves to help people no matter who they are. I also find the insights you give about the characters tell you more about them and how they each fit into their respective storylines amd how it gives some background information that builds on their characteristics.

The full extent of writing anything down before filming is the idea itself so I don’t forget it, or a temporary title such as “little witch helps you choose your fantastic beast. As for actual scripts, no. Everything you see is ad-libbed!

I love these insights into your characters, thank you. How much do you have written down about all of them? They definitely feel like fully realized characters!
