For a while now, the Hero story has focused a bit more on Elf Assassin rather than the Hero himself, and I wanted to make a couple videos answering the question as to why that is. In this Elf video, she once again finds herself in the ballroom among the nobles and cultists, but her objective here is a bit different than it usually is. Often she finds herself at socialite gatherings to take down high-ranking nobles with cult affiliations, but this time she's looking for someone who she doesn't specifically name in the video itself. The Elf Assassin videos are interesting in that compared with a lot of my other videos, the POV she interacts with tends to change in accordance with her setting. For example, the POV in all Van Helsing videos is Van Helsing himself, Vampire Saga and Little Witch videos have the Conduit POV, and so on. Elf talks and interacts with whoever will give the upper-hand in the game she's playing. Whether it be the Hero, a noble, or a passing waiter/waitress, she is as resourceful as she is scheming.
This leads into the second video, in which we find the Hero has been kidnapped by the Demon Lord's Acolyte. I've had this video on the backburner for quite some time, but it kept getting pushed back due to other ideas I wanted to get out first. This video is a bit different from the others in the Hero series due to it being a bit more horror tinged. The reference I had in mind was Jinx from the Arcane series and Lol video games, who has two very different personalities constantly warring in her mind. The Acolyte has both sweet and borderline demonic temperaments that rear up depending on how the conversation is going with the Hero. She's also the first character to really ask questions about the world the Hero came from, and expresses a desire to go there too. She questions the Hero's "Hero" status. Due to the nature of an ASMR video, battle and combat onscreen don't really work (believe me, I've thought about this), so character's tend to "fight" with words and ideals. Considering the Hero is one of my more fleshed out characters (as in they do have a personality rather than being a blank slate), I thought it was interesting to not have the Hero fight against what the Acolyte told them, no quips to be found. This idea of the Hero questioning his own status was explored later on, but I'll talk about that another week.
The video ends with Elf Assassin showing up and saving the Hero. To give a little behind the scenes info, it should come as no surprise to those who watch my channel that I set really tight deadlines for myself. Getting in costume is an hours long process and I generally start filming past 1:30 am due to outside noise being minimal (well duh, everyone's asleep lol). So in order to film Elf's cameo at the end of the the acolyte video, I simply filmed that part at the end of the previous day's Elf video and then exported it over to the Acolyte video. My videos are always meant to be a starting off point for new viewers, but I thought it'd be a fun surprise to have Elf show up at the end to save the Hero. And with that, the Hero's adventures continue!
