November 2024 Update

Once again, I need to apologize for not getting this out on time. Like many of you, I wasn't exactly having the best week.

Progress on the next video slowed a little bit during October because of my honeymoon, but I'm back home and am back to reading and streaming. With the holidays approaching, I'm assuming this video won't be ready until 2025.

The biggest update I have for you is that I have been building my studio!

Before:

While we were away on our trip, the contractors finished up my basement office and I've slowly been moving in. Since this is my permanent space, I sort of went all out.

We removed the drop ceiling and put in drywall with recessed lighting. All of the walls are sound insulated, the ceiling even more so. The TV can be on at full blast directly overhead and I can't hear a thing.

For recessed lighting, I have normal every day lights (which are on in the picture) and professional studio lights. Yesterday, I installed the overhead rail system, so I won't be tripping over tripods and stands too much anymore.

We expanded the room to the left by about 2 feet and put in a walk-in storage closet. I put in a whole IKEA shelving system It's great not having to put all of my props and equipment in giant boxes anymore.

I'm still waiting on a few things to finish up, the sound panels, some cable management for my desk, etc. But so far, I'm really happy with the way things are coming together.

It was quite the investment so I'm thinking I need to make more than 1-2 videos a year to make it worthwhile. 😅
