How to steam thrashed feathers back to new

https://vimeo.com/995956395/2dd2e65287

happy Stripping History today and every day! As promised, I made a little video tutorial of how to steam feathers back to life. Often times feathers that we collect can get easily broken or at least they look like they’re broken, the reality is that through some TLC we can breathe new life into them most of the time. Here’s one way to do it! Super basic tutorial on how to steam thrashed feathers back to New. I’ve done this with my feather fans as well as individual feathers and it works every single time for me with basic fixes. Sometimes feathers will just be too broken and unable to be salvaged, but nine times out of 10 those feathers can still be salvaged. Take a look, give it a try, hope this helps and I hope you enjoy this tutorial, thank you for your support, sending you lots of love today.

Feathers are incredible aren’t they? They’re so resilient.

Well that was fun! What an amazing transformation facilitated by steam. I never would have guessed that.

Not yet! But I will after I wash them. I’ve been putting it off because I wanna wait for the exact perfect time when I have enough help and have somebody to film the process with me. That way I can just focus just on washing the feathers because they are kind of dirty. I would like to bring them back to life and make them big and fluffy and beautiful again. I am planning on re-staving them as well. The staves that they are currently on are broken to tiny little pieces because they are lucite and they are so old. it’s way healthier for me to re-stave the fans rather than leave them stuck to that old loose site that’s deteriorating. I have purchased the staves, waiting for them to arrive from Hungary.

That was beautiful to watch the feather brought back to life with such simple care. I don't know if I'll ever actually steam a Peacock feather...but the process certainly works for you. Of course a little TLC works wonders on many things in life. 🦚🪶🤗🙂 Thank you Danielle.

Have you done this with Sally Rand’s fans?
