I originally purchased this costume to perform in and later found out this 1970’s Original Hedy Jo Star costume, was worn by Barbera, along side Ann Corio in “This Was Burlesque”. I was lucky enough to speak with Barbara and am editing an extensive interview on her time dancing with Ann Corio, working with Hedy Jo Star and her life as a showgirl in New York City. Barbara had many fittings with Hedy as they designed this bright neon fuchsia and acid green costume. This costume was definitely built for a big stage as you can see in the colorful design and ornate larger headdress. I’m excited to bring this costume to the stage and perform with it live once more before she goes into the Stripping History museum in Clinton, Iowa.
