My goldfish series always reminds me of the painting Flaming June. The orange and blue play together so beautifully. This was a beautiful day at La Parguera in Puerto Rico. Jeremy and I rented a boat and took it out to the mangroves, and I floated naked in the water the entire morning after this photo shoot. I love days like this and that we have the beautiful artistic reminder through Jeremy's photography.
This is only my second time back in the water shooting since my surgery and I’m feeling strong again. I can definitely still use a little more strength, but I feel like I can trust my body as a big wave comes or if I need to move quickly. I can trust my lungs more now And I don’t panic when I go underwater. I thought it was going to be like riding a bicycle to shoot underwater again, and it was not. For some reason, I developed a fear that I had never had before of being underwater because my muscles were so weak That I didn’t trust myself if I were to find myself in a serious situation. I’m happy those days are gone.
The set of photos represents a really huge accomplishment for me personally. Feeling pretty good about it.
(We have an entire set of these photos coming soon, but wanted to share this one with you because we love it so much. )
