Peace out!

Woke up in a funk but roasted a bowl and shook it off. Jeremy and I decided to take off for Chicago to see my niece Alaina and her bf Drew. The drive is beautiful and it’s not freezing so I’m stoked. Thankfully Memphis and Oliver are watching Azrael, our dog that Jeremy brought back from PR. I swear she is magic because ever since she has been back with us I have healed really quickly. I’m starting to feel so much better! Life is starting to feel so much more normal.

So, here we are, on our way to Chicago while listening to the “It’s Always Sunny” podcast. It’s hilarious and I recommend it.

The backseat is filled with travel bags and coats.

Memphis got me this incredible strawberry 🍓 comfy sweater that I take everywhere.

On my wrist is the bracelet that Miles and Amy got me for Christmas from Allied Barber in Davenport Iowa. I love this bracelet!

Around my neck is the gold and black locket Memphis got me for Christmas that fits a picture of both of my kids, Miles and Memphis.

I love that I can take pieces of my kids with me. Jewelry is such a great gift, isn’t it? I like things that prick my nostalgia. I find that I’m obsessed with vintage Jewelry and clothing because of the stories behind the pieces. I’m a sucker for nostalgia, are you?

I find that many people are, but sometimes folks surprise me and don’t carry sentiment for things.

Are you sentimental or nostalgic? About what?

If not, why? My mom hates clutter so she gets rid of anything that does not have an immediate purpose. Her house is always immaculate.

My dad is more nostalgic and sentimental towards objects.

How about you?

Peace out!

I watch Pickers of course I love my old stuff. My wife hates that she married an oldest. We are often the History keepers in the family. Oh well, she has art piles so we are even! ☺☺☺

Nostalgic and sentimental. I have to force myself to get rid of some things that have long outlived thier purpose.

My mom would call me an “old soul” whenever she wasn’t calling me a “willful child”. 😂 I graduated high school in 1987 and the one concert I talked my parents into taking me that I was interested in going to was the Monkees reunion tour at Ranger Stadium. I think I have an idealized vision of how life was in the 60s and 70s but wouldn’t mind revisiting those times as an adult instead of as a kid.

I love nastalgia! I have vintage guitars (I still own the the Peavey guitar and amplifier I played in my high school Junior and Senior talent shows) along with a couple that my daught bought me for fathers day gifts. They are not the most expensive ones I have but they are the most valuable ones I have...at least to me anyway! I have a trophy case full of all of my daughter dance accomplishments, from small local trophies when she was 3 all the way up to National titkea and Trophies. Someday she can give them to her daughter maybe. 🙂 I have kept cards and special littke items that she did in school or news paper clippings of her modeling a few times as a teen. I also buy her a christmas ornameny every year. She is 23, have not missed one yet. Those too can go to her kids some day. 🙂 Hope you enjoyed the read! 😉

I spend a lot of time thinking about growing up in the sixties. Such a great time to be an adolescent. It appears that for you life is good right now. Enjoy your trip.❤️❤️

Danielle I'm so worried 😔😫 about one of my daughters. She's in surgery this morning for pituitary gland cancer. This is the second time she's had it. She was on chemo when she got the second tumor. So I am not sure what to think or do right now. Hopefully your travels go well ❤️‍🩹.
