Deleting all my Kanye

I had a library full of Kanye. Loved his music. Felt a kinship due to being bipolar. He was a beloved Chicago icon. A “success story”.

In 2009 Pink called Kanye the biggest piece of shit. I should have listened.

I, along with most folks chose to ignore it and listen for the music because of his “genius”. Today I deleted any and all Kanye from my library and life. Being a bipolar person myself I thought he was simply struggling with mental health issues, then I saw the Alex Jones interview… Christ. What the actual fuck?!

Mental health is complex. So is life, but I know from first hand experience that being bipolar does not make one a racist misogynistic, antisemitic dumpster fire. Being a racist misogynistic antisemitic dumpster fire makes one a racist misogynistic antisemitic dumpster fire.

And yes, I realize Black people shouldn’t be referred to as racist (or so I was taught but thoughts on racism are changing every day) but I don’t know another word to describe his actions so I’m settling there until I have more insight on a better descriptor.

If there are 10 people sitting at a table and one is a nazi, then there are 10 nazis sitting at the table.

Pink… we all should have listened.

Here’s an interesting article on racism within America. Read and examine for yourself. I’m still a little confused and open to learning more, as we should be in this ever changing world.

there is no such thing as NAZIS anymore. nazis were a socialist political party from the 30's who persecuted JEWS.

chad lewis

btw I love Kanye.

there was a poll a few years ago by a major polling company. they asked hispanics, whites, blacks, asians, the same question - which race is the most likely to be racist? and ALL groups said that blacks were the most likely to be racist, INCUDING blacks themselves. yes, even BLACKS thought blacks were the most racist.

Heavy Metal is the Law

ZAIN

Racists are racists. Being from a historically oppressed people in the USA doesn’t change that. Same rules apply there is no room for bigotry.

So I read the article and respectively I could not disagree more with the statement that black people cannot be racist. Just read the definition of racist. It has nothing to do with your social, financial, or political standing in society. Now here's the most important point. Power comes in many forms. When you treat someone different because of the color of their skin it is hurtful and anytime someone can make another person feel less than what they are , that is a form of power. We all have the power to make someone feel less than what they are and to hurt someone with racist words or actions no matter the color of our skin or our position and status in society.

As soon as my lunch starts I want to read that article

I appreciate the conversation

I’m not sure, there’s racism everywhere, even within my own mind, because of my lack of experience and insight into certain things, and it’s an important conversation. I just know that Kanye is deeply problematic and is a product of our society As are many public figures of all backgrounds. Maybe racist isn’t the correct term for me to use in reference to him but he is problematic. I’m also problematic at times because of my ignorance. I think the real danger is doubling down on ignorance instead of researching to gain insight. I believe that racism is deeply rooted in American politics and history so I try to learn. It can be confusing. I think we are all learning new ways to understand racism and understanding that we need to do better as a country.

I am a huge Dallas Cowboys fan ,have been gor over 50 years but when I argue onFB that I think our QB Dak Prescott is just average I have been told I only feel that way because he is black and that person can tell I'm a racist from my profe pic. Is that not racist?

Good question, I’ve added an article that enlightens and confuses me. Feel free to read 🌸

Wait...why can't black people be called racist? I missed the memo on that one

Joel mandrell

I agree with all of what you said except the part where black people should not be called racist. All races have racist people it's not just exclusive to whites.
