Finally kicked the flu!

I’m now able to be out and about again after a week in bed. This is my big update.
Today we went to breakfast with Miles and Amy and had big dreams of finishing holiday shopping but my energy was too low for that so we went to Memphis house to wrap some of the gifts we had already purchased.
All Memphis fur babies were so happy to see us! Look how cute they are cuddling with Jeremy💗.
I love the days that I get to see my kids and cuddle with animals.
I took time today to try on pieces of my new costume being made by Christina Manuge. It’s the first time I’ve put this body into a costume since my surgery and it was a lot emotionally. So much excitement and anxiety seeing my body in a burlesque role again. I see that I have a lot of work to do after 2 months unable to exercise aside from very light walking. But I need to be kind to myself right now and not expect perfection, especially under these circumstances. At least I can dress myself and shower alone now. I’m gaining more independence each day and making massive progress, even if it doesn’t show on my body yet. My muscles are flaccid and weak now but soon I will be able to build more strength and then tone my body again.
I’m alive, loved and protected and that’s a lot! I’m extremely thankful for these things and thankful that I can look forward to strength training again soon.
I just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other until that day comes.💗🙏💗
Life is good! Things are happening as they need to. I am learning to be at peace about it all. This time is certainly teaching me patience.
What moment in your life has taught you patience?
I am so happy to see that you’re making progress and feeling better!
When I first met my partner she had a six-year-old son. I’m divorced but never had kids of my own. I’ve always loved kids and I’m great with babies but suddenly ‘doing life’ with a six-year-old came with some challenges. There were definitely times that I lost my patience and I acted like the kid. I always accepted responsibility and apologized for the way I acted as well as try to explain why I acted that way. So I guess you could say I’ve had many occasions that have taught me what it means to be patient.

Good to hear of your progress. Takes time to heal.
I learned to have patience when my wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It was a long and emotional journey for 5 years. She had very little patience, so she learned to take each day as it came. Her recovery was kinda a roller coaster ride. But we certainly bonded thru all the turmoil.
It tought me that I could give two shits about small problems that pop up each day.
Strong people deal with strong problems and I think you are a strong woman.💪

Glad to hear you are recovering well. I've had a number of life lessons that seemed to to aimed at patience. To list them is depressing still to me, so I won't. But life itself is a series of tests. We all have it in us to overcome them, hopefully with a greater understanding of ourselves and others. Take care!

Glad to see your getting back so norm! Im sure you have missed that! Looks like the costume is gonna be great! Dont beat yourself up on body tone. That booty still looks top shelf! 😉
PS ...the birth of my daughter is probably what taught me patience. Learning to be dad and mom both was definetly a challenge to me. It created good times, though. My daughter was a competitive dancer until she entered college. Teaches dance now, but I was always the odd parent (Dad) out backstage at the competitions with all of the moms. Yep, even helped with hair and makeup until Summer got old enough she didnt need help. She started dancing at 3 and competing at 8. She is a multi National Champion in Hip Hop and Lyrical in 3 catagories: Team, Solo, and Duet. Yeah, she taught me patience, but itvwas worth every lesson!! Take care!!

Great to hear you’re feeling better. You’re right about not overdoing things. Steady progress is the best. The pictures are great. Keep it up sweetie. Having complications from two different heart surgeries taught me patience. I spent a total of 18 weeks in the hospital and rehab a few years ago. Love ya Dannie!
