Chantel Capri, Miss Anatomy

Today I started looking into a burlesque artist named Chantel Capri. Known as “Miss Anatomy” “The Enchanting Smooth Beauty” and as “The French Love Kitten”.

I received an email from her daughter, stating that her mom, Chantel Capri, was shown on the American Pickers episode featuring Blaze Fury.

She also said that she has her mom’s original costumes and some memorabilia that she wants to do something with.

I’m thrilled to contact her today.

I had lost so much desire to work during this healing time and now I have some of my excitement back after reading this email.

I’m hoping to have news today so that I may move forward with documenting and archiving the history of Chantel Capri. I hope this makes her spirit happy and is in line with her wishes as a Burlesque artist.

I can not wait to learn more! I can clearly see that Chantel Capri worked with Rose LaRose. That’s incredible! I know she performed in Buffalo NY in the 1960’s billed as “Miss Anatomy” towering above her peers at 6ft tall reigning from Baltimore MD. I only see 3 years of activity in the peeling profession from 1965-67. With one appearance in 1969. Then another appearance in 1973. But the bulk of her career performances took place from 67-69.

Work can be emotionally taxing at times but there are many days that I wake up thrilled and excited to get to my “office”. I guess that excitement means I’ve chosen the right career path. What makes you excited about your work? Do you ever have days when you can’t wait to get to work?
