Road Dog diaries. The leaving.

Where to begin?

Ok, I’ll start here…

Travel is hard, so I’m learning to find the soft spots.

Fortunately Jeremy and I get to travel together this time🙏 thankful does not even begin describe how I feel. We have been trying to work on being more supportive and soft with eachother. It’s so easy to be harsh. Especially when things are stressful. So me made a choice a few months back to choose to be softer with each other in how we interact. It has done wonders for our relationship so far. We both have expressed feeling more trust along with feeling less resentments.

We chose to leave one day early and spend some time in San Juan together. What a great idea that was! We were able to focus on us. Away from distractions.

Needless to say, the leaving was a bit easier this time.

The flight was easy, no layover but upon arriving home and unpacking I found all my luggage soaking wet. All 3 suitcases. It was as if they had been sitting in deep water. There was a record flooding here in Chicago right around the time we were landing. I wonder if our luggage was affected by that? It would’ve been right at the beginning of the rainfall but, I’m not sure? Has that happened to you ever? Have you ever received your luggage and had it soaking wet? On the downside of that situation, the silk fans that I made for my routine for the Riot Fest after party or destroyed. I’m going to have to reimagine the whole beginning of my routine over the next few days. There’s silk fans That are stained with Ink All of the water just made the ink bleed as a look crazy.

Road Dog diaries. The leaving. Road Dog diaries. The leaving. Road Dog diaries. The leaving. Road Dog diaries. The leaving. Road Dog diaries. The leaving. Road Dog diaries. The leaving. Road Dog diaries. The leaving.

I hope you are safe from the hurricane

I have to laugh, when I first saw your photos I thought they were of the roof of an yurt. I was like what is Danni up to now. Once I enlarged I was like duh. Hope you got a smile and stay strong, we are all adjusting to our new realities.

Good luck 👍🏼. Wish I could be there

Haha so true!

this has never happened to me before. This is the first time in almost 20 years of performing that I have had a major prop in my costume get ruined like this. I’ve had so many nightmares about it, now I know why I had all those nightmares, it made me prepare mentally it made me work extra hard to never be in that position. There’s an interesting piece to the story that I will post later. At the end of the day, everything‘s gonna be great but wow! It’s funny how we can make plans and the universe has other plans for us.😂

I think I’m just starting to realize that the world is a much different place than it used to be. My expectations just have to change because the world‘s not gonna change for me. And I have to find some comfort in the chaos. That’s what I’m striving to do. And yes! I have no choice but to knock it out of the park and have so much fun performing on Friday💗🙏💗

You just can’t win when you have flown lately. Hopefully the bad things are behind you now and the rest of your trip will be filled with positive things. Knock it out of the park when you perform Friday.❤️❤️

Greg Smith

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear about your fans. That is so shitty.

Christina Manuge (Manuge et Toi Design)

He’s so lucky to have you !!! Beautiful couple !

Have you considered Pelican Cases for when you travel with your costumes and accessories? The airlines would likely charge you extra to check them, but they’re very sturdy and (should be) waterproof. I have a briefcase I bought that I used for my electronics when I deployed to Afghanistan and work issued me one for all my gear. I like them, but they’re a tad expensive for my usual budget.

I've had luggage show up at my door 6 days later.
