Road Dog celebration
Added 2022-08-17 15:15:56 +0000 UTCMy son miles turned 26 on aug 13 but we celebrated his birthday a few days late, when I arrived to the Quad Cities.
We Gad a great evening at Lemongrass. We laughed, talked, ate incredible food and healed together from the last year of insanity.
Miles is a community thinker who loves Teamsters and Union history so I found some great vintage items along those lines for him.
I did not get a photo of the vintage t shirt I got him with a photo of Hoffa saying “I’m a friend of Hoffa”. Super cool!
Fortunately, Alaina, my beautiful niece, was able to join us. She always is making time to celebrate those she loves.💗
I was thrilled that Memphis and Oliver flew in as well! Memphis was able to find a beautiful home to return to here in the Quads. I’m so happy she will be able to leave Texas soon. She and Oliver need family right now.
Today I’m headed to the doctor for more tests, hopefully this will be a simple day with a mind towards rest after the Dr. I can’t wait to get back to my bed and watch movies and eat grapes 🍇.
After a couple days of recovery and rest I’ll be joining my best friend Nicole for a spa day then a family movie night with the whole fam bam. We are going to see “Nope”.
The next day I get to see my burlesque daughter Mac D’vil perform at Ribco. A spot I started dancing at almost 15 years ago. I’m sure the memories will come flooding back.
What are you doing with your week and weekend?
Do you get to see your family often? I understand family connections can be complicated. If you don’t have family that is safe for you, who is your chosen family in your life?

Hopefully it’s nothing serious. My kids and grandkids live less than 150 miles away so I get to see them pretty often . In fact we’re getting together this coming Sunday to celebrate my 72nd birthday. We’re doing a picnic and swimming. I’m looking forward to it. Take care of yourself sweetie and get some rest.
