Of pickin on tv!

If I remember back to the first day but I was introduced to the Cineflix crew, things looked much different. Where I’m standing in this photograph, would’ve been my living room.

This spot is now our overflow shop on location in LeClaire Iowa.

I remember vividly what our teeny tiny little house was still standing there. I have to be honest, I’m glad it was knocked down. Built over. Forgotten about. That house was incredibly haunted. Not just with our own family memories, multiple of our family members living in this home at different times, but full of real ghosts as well. Not a week went by in that house without something moving on its own, lights flickering often on, noises coming from the basement, visual manifestations, etc.

In fact I remember one of the hauntings in this house because it cleared out the entire house. I had friends over at the time staying in the house with me. If I remember correctly it was James Honeycutt, the Calamity cubes and the goddamn gallows all piled into the house at the same time with myself and my children. Whatever entity was in this house at the time did not like that. I clearly remember a photograph flying off the wall and hitting Kody Oh from the Calamity cubes, whom I was dating at that time. The picture, in a frame, unhooked itself from the wall and flew across the room hitting Kody Oh and emptying out the house. They were three more times during that stay where everybody was scared enough to leave the house because of items moving or shifting in the home, or loud voices telling everybody get out.

I’ve not had any issues with haunting since the house was torn down and the new shop was built on top of it. I wonder why the difference? Did the spirits seep into the wood beams of the original house? Was it something I was doing? Did the kids get into something that wasn’t good? The house has been haunted ever since I first walked in the door years before I moved into it. Enough people that I knew had lived in that house and told me stories about it but to be honest, I thought they were full of shit.

Violence and Mayham, confusion and negativity surrounded this house until the day it was torn down.

I’m glad to finally have something productive and positive sitting on this land now.

Have you ever had a haunting?

Oh yes. I dated a girl who’s parents lived in a house built in 1732. I had two separate ghost interactions. One was eerie. The other was a male with reddish hair, dark eyes, and had serious anger issues. Kept slamming closed a door that didn’t close easily at all. Rumor was he died in that room.

After my paternal grandfather died, I was afraid he was going to come back and haunt me. I was around four at the time. I was playing in my room not too long after and this knitted hat I had hanging on the edge of the dresser mirror flew off and landed in my lap. Still can’t explain what happened. But, overall, I don’t believe in ghosts, demons, angels, etc. as actual anthropomorphic entities. Considering the type of magic I dabble in, you would think my house would be haunted as fuck.

Completely unrelated to your post other than we love all things Pickers. Where did you get your tshirt. I am a firm believer that is one of the best reasons to study and learn history. Boo!

I haven’t had any problems myself but my niece and her husband bought the house where I lived from the time I was born until I got married at age 21. My mom and dad owned it for 43 years until mom passed away in 1991. My niece swore that they saw images of my mom moving around the house more than once. There was other weird stuff that happened too.
