I thought I’d give you a little sneak peek at some of the things I found on the road, the other day. I went out to farmland area in Arizona and picked from a nice gentleman with a family history in farming and agriculture. This nice gentleman works with 4H to help children get more excited about agriculture in America. I’m not gonna give you this nice man’s name right now, I’ll save that for the show. I know that Mike really loves turquoise so I picked some good lots of turquoise for the shop and after the pic was shown a whole stock pile of semi precious gemstone treasures.
It was incredible, the experience of finding these treasures. We looked all over this arid, dry farmland of Arizona and found all kinds of interesting pics but I was led to a back room of an outbuilding filled with tractors to a safe. Not just any safe. The safe was extraordinary! This nice man had purchased the entire safe at an auction. Not only did he purchase the safe but he purchased an entire trailer as well. As we walk towards the safe I could see if it was something really unique, he pulled up in the first doors of the safe, those thick heavy wrought iron doors, the ones you never want to hit your head on, you know what I’m talking about. The kind that you always watch your fingers around, ha! now you know what I’m talking about! Those massive first doors open to reveal the most beautiful painted second door on the safe, it was ornate, colorful, 1920s/30s art deco style, extraordinary! Those doors opened to reveal a stash of semi precious gemstones. As I picked through the semi precious gemstones, I felt like a kid in a candy store. Every once in a while I get really excited about my job, this was one of those days. I picked every gemstone he had, walked away packed him in the car and was shown a second location, the trailer he had purchased at the same auction. I spent a couple hours looking through the trailer not only did I find more gemstones, silver, jewelry making tools, I also found a stack of photos, family photos. These photos belong to the man who owned this trailer and the lot of gemstones I had just picked. Not only did it show his beautiful jewelry but it also showed his life, family, friends. I’m trying to decide what to do with this lot of history. I don’t know this man’s name. I can’t find it anywhere. But I have his life‘s work and photos of his life. Do you think I can figure out who this man is? I’m going to try. The research has already begun, my curiosity has been piqued!
As soon as I get back to Puerto Rico with all these gemstones I’m going to meet up with my friend Georgina who makes much of my jewelry. She’s made my wedding ring and several other pieces of jewelry that I treasure. She’s very knowledgeable about these types of things. As I know more I will certainly update you.💗
