While researching Dancers of bostons Combat Zone and the 2 o’clock lounge, I ran across this beautiful photograph of Teresa Watson. As the photograph states she wows the customers at the Shamrock. I’m elated to say that I have been able to compile some information about her! I’m searching for more photographs at this point and I’m very excited to bring you more information soon.
Currently my focus is on being with my family here in New Orleans for the week. I flew in my family so that we could have a getaway for everybody’s birthdays. December and January were pretty rough months for the family to get together due to Covid and extenuating circumstances. We decided to wait till all the hubbub calmed down an opt for this month instead. I’m glad we did, it’s been an incredible trip so far! My son Miles and his girlfriend Amy are staying with us in our Airbnb in the Bywater. The area here looks so different! I haven’t been to the ninth ward in a few years and it’s like a completely different place. That gives me feelings. I’m not sure exactly what those feelings are right in the moment but it gives me some sort of feelings. My friend Ingrid Lucia used to bring me down here years ago and that’s how I was introduced to the Bywater area, I’m excited to say that she’s gonna be able to meet me down here and today so that we can reconnect! She has just written a book on her life‘s journey and I’m excited to read it, especially since I’ve watched a good portion of it with my own eyes. She’s been an incredible singer, a driven woman, a fighter, a survivor and an all-around bad ass! I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard her music before but here, I’m gonna give you a little taste of my friend Ingrid Lucia‘s talents. Photograph number one above is Teresa Watson, photograph number two above is Ingrid Lucia, here’s a link if you want to listen to some of her beautiful tunes from 2015. 💗
