Added 2022-02-12 14:49:19 +0000 UTCThis 1954 Frederick’s of Hollywood “French scandal” style bra is nylon and lace with erotic nipple cut outs that are daring and revealing, but the ad states that perfect lift and support are also included! This particular bra came in white or flirt black. I would have loved the flirt black. I find it interesting that the size is only run 32 to 38 in a B cup. This means I couldn’t wear this bra! Sad face… I wonder what it would’ve been like at that time to have so many fewer options for lingerie especially stage lingerie. I would’ve had to make so much on my own. I remember when I first started and Burlesque, nothing fit me. Any ready to wear style Burlesque fashion just was simply too small. And that’s when I was about 40 pounds lighter…
It is still possible to find vintage lingerie in larger sizes but unfortunately Frederick’s of Hollywood was not known for making generous sizes.
