Yesterday we had a really fun workday. My two week vacation is over and I am back to work now but it was a fun day working in the waterfalls. This little guy came out, we call him Larry. He crawled all over us. He really liked crawling up in everybody’s hair. I’m surprised we actually got him out of our hair without hurting him. But he wouldn’t leave us!
We kept trying to put him down on a leaf or on the ground, he was not having it.
He would jump right back up onto us and then climb right up to our face again. It was pretty hilarious and I think everybody really needed that connection with nature as well as the feeling of wonder and curiosity this little creature brought with him and inspired in us.
Finally we were able to set him down on a leaf up high. And then we all walked away and enjoyed the moment. It’s really important that when you find creatures in the wild, no matter how cute they are or how beautiful they are that you leave them there. Unless an animal is hurt and you can provide care, they need to stay in the environment they were born in.
My Dad used to say, “Take only memories and leave only your footprint.”😉
