Barks of hope trip

I just thought I would give you a little sneak peek I have a couple of the beautiful views from today. We went to barks of hope and played with a couple of new dogs that just needed a little bit of TLC. One of the dogs was so precious. She’s a white mixed breed and would cower in the back of her kennel every time anyone would come near. For some reason she decided to open up today and play! I was shocked! As I was walking by her kennel, she came up to the door and I put my hand up and let her sniff me, then lick my hand, then eventually I put my face against the kennel door, she licked my face, I think that’s when we became best friends. After that, we decided to let her out with a couple of the other dogs and see how she responded. She was totally submissive, you can tell there was probably abuse in her history like most dogs that come to us. Please I noticed she was not defensive, just submissive. That actually worked well because the other dogs that she was out with were much smaller than her so we know she does really well around small animals and I’m sure that soon we will let her out with the bigger dogs and see how she does around them.

It was incredible to watch her go from so docile and afraid to being full of love, licks, cuddles, running around the yard, playing with the other animals and the other people and really loving the attention.

For a minute when we first got her we thought she might be a problem child but I guess that will teach you to judge a book by its cover right?

Anyhoo.... I wish I was home more often because I would love to take this little buddy home with me💗
