So many burlesque performers have a specific gimmick with personalized props. Usually performers like to try to stand apart from one another. It’s actually very frustrating if somebody copies a routine of a burlesque performer because that is intellectual property and can be hard to protect unless a performer chose to copyright it.

Tere had a great gimick with her champagne Goddess routine. Who doesn’t want to see a dripping wet, Goddess in a champagne glass?

The only downside was that there were many Champaign girls including the well known Rita Alexander hailing from NOLA (I will be writing about her eventually).

Rita Alexander was a fiery performer who we will learn more about later but for now here is a bit of visual history on “the Champagne Goddess, Sparkling Tere Sheehan”.

I do not own the beautiful original marketing poster but the 2 photos of Tere Sheehan and her original costume are from my collection.

My goal is to find a photo of her in this costume.
