Detroit, you’re pretty. A Road Dog Diary.

So I landed in Detroit the evening before last at the moment the plane touched down it started to snow. It was absolutely beautiful, I didn’t realize how much I actually needed to see the snow and feel the cold on my cheeks. I forgot for a moment what it feels like for everything to be completely devoid of life and covered in slush. No green anywhere, just white everywhere. It wasn’t even a heavy snow… Just enough to be a little bit annoying to those who don’t enjoy driving on the ice. Haley met me at the airport and I cannot even explain what a joy it was to see her beautiful shining face. Whenever I see that I automatically feel OK no matter where I’m traveling. I know I’ll be taken care of, I know I’m not alone, I know I have an adventure partner, you know how that can take a lot of the fear away when you travel the world constantly. We spent our first night here at the bar in the hotel. It was closed for the night but the bartender Charlie Was kind enough to let us in and pour us a few drinks. As a thank you we ordered GrubHub and fed him well. Yesterday after a rocky nights sleep in a new bed I practiced throughout the morning, we started out with a huge breakfast and it was incredible to eat Midwestern food again! I had mushroom soup and breakfast hash. Perfection! From there I came back to the hotel and I practiced with my fans in the room which did not work… The room is way too small the fans are way too big. Then dirty show was kind enough to let us in to the Russell industrial center here in Detroit to practice so that I could have more space on stage. This is why I love working with 30 show. People support each other and want to see each other succeed. After that, Haley took me to a barbecue joint called slow, it was great, I’m so used to Puerto Rican barbecue that it’s almost weird to come back and have barbecue here it was delicious, perfect for the evening. As we were leaving my friend James box unexpectedly walks in the door and we ended up staying for another hour or so just talking. Then Haley and I went back to the hotel, I’m pretty sure I literally spilled into the bed and turned on my Netflix and passed out. It was a good night sleep, I’m super excited for dirty show today! I love being a part of something that makes you feel like you’re around a family. Also, I miss bathtubs. I’m so happy that this hotel has a bathtub! I took three baths yesterday alone. I wonder how many I will take today?
