The beauty of stillness

This place serves as my art space and a safe place for myself and my community. This island has healed more traumatic memories than I can ever relay in words. My space here has housed survivors of domestic violence who needed to hide from violent partners and friends soothing mental illness and grief. This space is life saving and life giving. It’s inspiring just to sit on the porch. I love my safe space. I’m excited to be sharing it with another great artist looking for healing, Lola Coquette Latinx burlesque performer will come and indulge in a Dannie Diesel Bump and Grind Acadamy Burlesque immersion week in April. She will go through my days with me, learning the skills I have been building for the last 12 years in the Burlesque industry. I’m excited to learn from her as well! It will be a spanish immersion for me! She is bilingual and I’m ready to learn more! This is my way of reaching out to my community and learning life lessons and burlesque history from different perspectives. Each dancer has a story and a hero. I want to know both. The best part is that you will get to come along on the journey!!!
