Working with a panel skirt
Added 2019-03-23 03:10:22 +0000 UTCI always love it when my costumes are my props. I love to be able to create luxurious moments with just a sheet of fabric. I noticed that a lot of new burlesque performers (myself included years ago) have difficulty with their hands. Meaning you’re not exactly sure what to do with your hands and your arms. What I love about a panel skirt is that you don’t have to worry about that. Your hands stay busy and look elegant if you hold the skirt as if you are pinching it between your thumb and index finger or your thumb and middle finger. Allow your hands to fall gracefully. Lead with your wrists. If you notice my wrists flow before my fingers do. When I’m pulling my arms up my wrists flow and my fingers follow. And by follow I mean follow through. Be sure to follow through with your movements. Make them smooth and elegant and refined. Holding a panel skirt can help with that.
as you can see this costume is heavily beaded. I painstakingly beaded this costume myself and have the arthritis to show for it😂 The magic reveal showgirl panties I purchased from glorious pasties. they are so fun to work with on stage.

Just ones who want to experience the journey and enjoy whatever it is you choose to share. It shows how much passion and heart you have to give form the amount of thought you put in to your response. I know plenty of people who would have only had three or four choice words for a comment like that 😉

This forum is for people who are interested in learning about striptease history. There are plenty of other artists who can provide you with what you need.
