I absolutely adore the pasties that Christina Manuge made for me, and these vintage Burlesque bottoms from Tiff Little Fingers absolutely slay on stage! I’m over the moon about this costume.
As you watch this video you will see that I have an uh oh moment when I drop my fan to the floor and it cracks. The entire LED element was destroyed. I watched it break and I wanted to cry and run away and maybe hate scream... The reason I did not do that is because I am trying to make it a rule that every time I practice I’m not allowed to stop in the middle of a routine unless it’s an absolute emergency. The fan was broken, there was nothing I could do about it, it broke my heart because it’s $700 for that set of fans and I had already broken the other fan. I guess next time I need to be more selective about where I buy my feather fans from. The point is, I wanted to stop but I didn’t stop. I kept going. And I love how the end of the routine works out. As you are watching these videos with the green costume, these are all new routines that I was working through. It’s the first time I have worked through any of these routines with this costume. When you run into trouble, keep going. Don’t stop, just keep going. When you feel stupid, dust it off and keep going. When you feel embarrassed on stage, find a way to make it funny or laugh with your audience about it. Mistakes happen especially in a live show. Embrace those mistakes, laugh it off, move forward and hit it even harder after that. No use to cry over spilled milk. Let it go, move forward. Make it work in your favor somehow. It has become a good mantra for my life✨
