i think you hit the nail on the head in the tyrion and jaime goodbye scene “i don’t care. i am just so mentally checked out.” THAT more than anything is why the ending is considered the worst ending of all time. i followed these characters for a decade, i followed this story for a decade. when littlefinger died i broke my bed from jumping up and down on it in absolute elation! and for the last 3 episodes of this season i genuinely couldn’t give a shit what happened.

2025-09-03 22:33:58 +0000 UTCThere IS an interesting story they could tell about Dany slowly going mad and it coming to this—but they didn’t tell it. You can’t have a character go from 0-60 in 2 episodes and have it make sense. It’s very clearly a symptom of the showrunners not wanting to work on the show anymore and instead of stepping down and handing it over to competent writers, they rushed through several seasons of plot in a rushed last 2 seasons, breaking characters and spending all the budget on special effects instead of actual writing a story that makes any sense. And that is why we all hate the ending of this show and why I’ll never watch anything those showrunners do ever again. They’ve lost my trust for life.
