the "glass house" comment is a reference to the idiom "people who lives in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" aka "don't be a hypocrite" so he's calling jack a hypocrite since the 815 survivors have been violent too - they (charlie) killed ethan, tortured ben, etc.

2024-11-03 22:54:48 +0000 UTCAchara, the woman in Phuket, is played by Bai Ling - who also played Jhiera in the Angel episode "She", and Myca in The Crow. I love how the Others (for lack of a better name) are always saying they're not the bad guys, they're not the kind of people who would kill Jack, it's not that simple, etc. But then Karl goes "If they catch me they'll kill me." Even if we accept that what they did to "our" group was warranted, there's a bit of a discrepancy in what they say and what they do.

2024-11-03 19:00:32 +0000 UTCCongratulations! You have now watched the lowest rated episode of the whole show (according to imdb)! Yay! (its actually tied with Fire+Water from season 2, the one where Charlie tries to baptize Aareon). Maybe you ask why this should be the worst episode? Well, its not that this episode is especially bad, but that the others (no pun intended) are so much better, especially compared to its immediate predecessor and some later episodes in the season.

2024-11-03 18:05:12 +0000 UTCStranger in a Strange Land is science fiction novel. I have not read it yet (it's on my list, somewhere), but it's apparently about a human who grew up on Mars coming back to Earth and coming to terms with its - in his eyes - strange culture.
