i still can't believe that's a real thing haha we had nothing in even close to that. just some sex ed classes and that's it. although I also don't know anyone who got pregnant as a teenager. maybe it's just less of an issue here

You asked about the eggs as parents thing. Whenever non-US reactors ask that, I always mean to answer, and then I always forget. Yes, it is a real thing. I'm in Canada, and they do it here, too. Or, I should say, they used to do it in US and Canadian schools. Now, I think they use babies. Battery-operated babies, not real ones. I believe the dolls cry, too. And pee.
When they did it in my school, we had to go all out with it, taking time out of our day to change the doll, tuck it in and feed it. That is, we were supposed to sit and wait for an allotted time it would take to feed a real baby, so that we got a feel for how much time and energy it took to care for a child, and how it really affected our lives. If we went out, we were supposed to take it with us, just as one would a real child. And if we wanted to go out on the town and couldn't take a child with us, we had to find someone to watch our egg. If we couldn't find a babysitter, then we weren't supposed to go. We were supposed to keep a log that we would show the teacher at the end of the experiment. I always found the whole thing incredibly fascinating.
This reaction was a lot of fun. I usually skip this one, but you made it enjoyable.

I don't really like this episode, but I don't hate it either. The grossness of the monster doesn't bother me. The main plot and metaphor is pretty bad though. But then the cowboy vampire brothers are fun. Too bad about all the gross Buffy/Angel kissing though :-P
