This is one of the unpopular episodes that I really enjoy. It reminds me of the Puppet Show episode... because both episodes take a character that is a horror trope and make them sympathetic. I also thought Xander and Ampata were cute together. Sure Xander's a condescending numbskull... and Ampata is a serial killer... but they just seem to enjoy spending time together so much. I can't help thinking that it might have been nice to have Ampata around for a handful of episodes... if she weren't a serial killer. :( And Seth Green's character crushing on Willow: it's so cute I could cry.

2020-11-22 22:17:45 +0000 UTCMy imagination runs wild when I think about all the things that Buffy and Giles could have done together while they were stuck together in the tomb. Maybe they took advantage of the unusual situation... to train in unfamiliar circumstances. It could be very useful to experiment with what forms of combat are less effective (or more effective) in a small, closed-in space. Or perhaps they played a couple of games of Chess. Or maybe they discussed recipes that are simple ways to jazz up a simple chicken breast. The imagination runs wild.

If not for the Willow angle Xander and Impata would be quite cute together, at least at first :/ Not much to add except, yes, awkward moments for Buffy trapped in a tomb in the dark with an unconscious Giles. I hope she didn't land on anything important. ;)
