I know i am late, just some supplementary information: - The whole "weight crab" thing is a japanese wordplay "omoi" means "feelings"/"Emotion" as well as "weight"/"heavy". "kani" is "crab" and "kami" is god. - In regards to the gods, its shintoism. Shintoism basically has 2 entities, "kami" and "akuma". "Kami" are translated as "god" but usually are treated more as Nature spirits. Kami are (according to shinto) everywhere. A shrine usually has a kami, a nice place can have a Kami, a concept can have a Kami. There are thousands of "kami" for all sorts os purposes and means, and they dont really form a pantheon. "akuma" meanwhile are the evil equivalent. Additional Tidbits: - "Black" means you are in Araragis very warped POV. The Narration is not objective, he sees things biased, hence so much stationary, such a deep drop to fall etc. - Senjohagara is carrying so much stationary to not get affected by wind and pushes and stuff.

And it revitalises your attention or give you a moment to breathe. At first I thought it has something to with color-theory and to give you a sense of what mood we in. But I guess it's just a homage to the light novel/manga.

2025-08-16 20:42:02 +0000 UTCThe stuff that goes by on the single-frame animation is all excerpts from the books and the intro scene specifically is mostly just there to get your interest for past events and give a small look into what has happened so you're not completely blindsided by it later. If you want to read them, then do it but generally, if it's important to the plot, they'll give you enough time to really read it. I typically suggest people on their first-time watch to just let it play, try to read it, and if you miss it just keep going.
