this author is really good at writing, very dark tone to get the viewer's or reader's emotions riled up. i can see many other good works from this author off of this anime, just because they know how to hook the viewer

I gotta say, this episode was heavy, definitely weighed on me throughout the entire thing. What was happening was absolutely sick….. That being said, I’m glad the source, and anime, didn’t shy away from something this dark just being like a character saying, “For years I was held in slavery with my friends. Forced to do unthinkable things.” Cause even though that woulda been dark to just hear, actually watching it happens puts that much more emphasis on the fact that he helped her/them. It now paints a clear picture with a deep motive of why she will be part of the crew. So although the subject is rough, and never an easy thing to talk about, I’m glad they did something like this. And although maybe not intended it’s also a good way to get people to think about what is still happening in the real world. I still wish the guys woulda been merc-ed in the most painful way possible, but I digress. A great reaction for how dark this episode got, I’m glad to be back and working on Patreon so I can grind to catch up! (Sorry this comment was so long)

Maha was the last piece of his team so unless there's a dark episode towards the other girl joining him (his magic teacher. I want to say her name is Dia?) then this episode should be the only one of its kind.

It's like what was that pedo show on Netflix everyone was talking about a few months back? The director was like "I gotta show em twerking and riding on each other to make my point". It was a hack job and an excellent example of what I mean. Sometimes just a blood splat on the ground can make a scene more powerful because the viewer uses their imagination to complete the scene, then some gory prosthetic head or something coming off We all knew what happened to those girls. It didn't need to be said, and because it wasn't, it conveyed the imagery more powerfully I feel.
