IT’S A GO!

Well, it’s official: I’m getting married. By this time next week, I’ll legally have a wife, stepson, and in-laws. However, the last there years I’ve already been living that reality, so my day-to-day life really won’t change much, if at all. And that’s fine by me.

For fans who have followed my work for a while, it will be no surprise that my creative spirit has always made me prone to melancholy moods and undeniably lonely times in life. I’ve struggled with manageable amounts of depression, financial instability, and basic anxieties and insecurities that plague many others. My go-to music has always been mopey sad-bastard music, lovers-lament stuff. But oddly enough, none of that factors into my life much at all.

I’ve told my fiancé numerous times now that she’s ruined all my go-to inspirational albums because I can no longer relate to the sadness and longing that they convey. My biggest complaint is my future wife not eating leftovers, or my stepson not getting up on time. I no longer worry about being alone, feeling lost and directionless. Now, I just am living my life instead of waiting for it to begin.

And that’s something I’m not afraid to admit. I think in our society only pain is lauded. There should be a safe space to loudly promote your individual happiness iff and when it finally arrives. And for me it definitely has.

So to all of you out there struggling to find meaning in life, waiting for love or the end to loneliness, all I can advise is to keep going. Push on through. Do your best, think positively, and keep striving for more. Maybe you’ll get as lucky as I am. Then stay grateful.
