BURN THE NIGHT

This is a great series of Erika I have never shared anywhere! Though we had shot a fire series in the Spring, we had a reshoot a month later and for one reason or another I left them unedited on my computer until now.

Sometimes I get so side-tracked in my day-to-day life. I think that everything I create is bad, or simply not good enough, so I ignore the work, let it sit for weeks, months, even years sometimes. That is what happened here. I thought the images were boring, repetitive, or simply not what I wanted them to be. Now I look at them and in love with the work, or at least think it deserves a second look, for sure.

This was a rare day I used not one, but two assistants. The first is Erika’s boyfriend, who is a tall, strapping lad who is great at carrying heavy things. The second was a photography student of mine, a sweet green-haired lady named Sophia. She is often shy and humble, but she has a great creative eye and always willing to help.

This afternoon/evening shoot went so well I ended up shooting over 700 images, which is a lot, even by my standards. I hope you’ll enjoy this series as much as we all did in creating it for you. Let’s start December off right!
