PRETTY IN PINK
Growing up in the 1980s, I watched the stereotypical John Hughes teen movies on repeat, not so much because I liked them, but because my mom really loved them. One especially, Pretty In Pink, was one of her absolute favorites, and a month didn’t go by that she wasn’t popping in the large VHS tape into the VCR so we could see the return exploits of Molly Ringwald and her pal Ducky.
Years later I found the soundtrack on tape at a Goodwill in Seattle, Washington, and I played the hell to of that thing for years. (I still have it!) I often quote from the movie, and any time I hear a reference to any aspect of the movie, I’ll start quoting or reliving the experience of watching that very time-specific film.
When I shot with Zoe again at her mom’s new house near me, I was shocked to see the bright colored bikini she had picked out, but I definitely knew, as she did, that she looked incredible. Please enjoy this special series of Zoe being the quintessential beauty that is more than simply pretty in pink.
