FIRESIDE
Fire is as primal an element to humans as you can get. It cooked our earliest food, it’s heat protected us from the vicious environment, and it spurred our minds to travel to places they were never designed to venture.
Personally, though I was never a pyromaniac like so many other boys I knew growing up, I’ve always been fascinated by all aspects of fire. How it flickers and grows, how it succumbs easily yet can surprisingly endure. Plus, as a visual person, I often understand the magical fascination with which earlier primates regarded it.
The same can be said for my undying love and devotion to my dear friend and model Erika, who is truly family to me. We’ve seen each other through many ups and downs over the years, and I look forward to being present for many more of adventures to come.
We’d discussed creating a fire series for a very long time, and since I’m pretty much dick of working with most of the boring new local models around here, we’ve shot more and more in the last few months.
This time I used three different assistants, shooting this scenario twice in as many weeks in order to get it right. And I think we finally did. But most importantly, what do YOU think??
