GIVING IT BACK

Sometimes you have to just let things go, take a break, clear your head, and try to start fresh. For me, that involves being along for a bit, being out in nature, letting the sky open up above me and taking a long, slow, deep breath out in crisp, cool breeze.

That’s what I needed when we shot this series, and I still feel that way when I view it. I had been feeling creative yet unsure of my direction, and I simply needed to do something. Thankfully my buddy Shaley is always down to hang out, get silly, often take her clothes off, and pose goofily for my camera.

This day was sunny but cold, and the blue sky and intense wind seemed chillier than usual. Still, we drove around, laughed, and had a productive afternoon, all while sharing our fears and concerns about life, as we always do.

Shaley has become a true, dear friend to me over the last year or so, which we knew would happen and said it would the first time we met in the fall of 2017. I’m thankful that we were both right, and eager to experience all the things our futures hold, both separately and together.
