Episodes would be recorded and posted for playback as normal - it would just take place initially as a live stream and allow interaction in chat with everyone between songs.
We'd likely edit these parts out so that future playback flows like a pre-recorded episode. The live streams would probably be much longer.
Thoughts? 👀

I hope all of you had a fantastic holiday last week, and will have a sweet (and safe) NYE celebration this week!
Today was supposed to be the day I recorded the full-album episode for Thursday, alongside the first YouTube episodes for 2026...
As luck would have it, I came down with a cold yesterday, and while I normally always push through that on videos, my voice is completely GONE as of this morning. It's painful to even speak, so I'm going to sit aro...

We kicked off 2025 with Operation Ivy's Energy. It was absolutely rad. I was there! So, what will we kick off 2026 with?
After every poll, there's always an album or two I'm a little bummed I won't get to hear just yet. This time, I'm forcing the matter. All of these albums have lost at least twice in past polls (for some, 3 or 4 times!)—so it's time for yet another Lost, But Not Forgotten poll.
Cavalcade by The...

I went into Revolutions Per Minute expecting a pretty solid punk record, but I didn’t expect it to win me over as much as it did. It honestly took a few tracks, but by the end, I could not stop playing along. I simply couldn't resist. The riffs are memorable, predictable, and satisfying in all the right ways, which made this one of the most enjoyable album reviews I’ve done so far on that front.
Joe Principe’s bass work is just downright fun and stimulating to l...

*A quick note from Mark: My wife is undergoing a major surgery in a couple of weeks, so I need to take some time to help her recover and be with the family. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make any extra holiday content happen, but I plan to roll out some really fun stuff for early 2026!
In lieu of that, requests are pushed up earlier this month and I'll be posting some episodes from the Patreon vau...

We're branching out a bit this month with some new "scenes"...within the scene?! A little prog punk, a little post-hardcore, some emo, and The Flatliners' Cavalcade returning for another chance after landing in second place last month. Let's see what happens! 🤘🧐
This poll will be open through Saturday, November 22nd, and the winning album's episode will be posted on Monday, December 1st!

I thought I knew what Strung Out sounded like, but Twisted by Design completely rewired that assumption. This album is heavier, darker, and far more dynamic than I expected. The sequencing alone floored me; each track seems to devolve tonally into something more visceral and introspective, like watching a light dim slowly.
Jim Cherry’s bass tone hits like a hammer, thunderous and present, constantly pushing against the guitars instead of hiding beneath them. And Jason Cruz...

So, my question is, is there a band you didn't previously like, but...

What are the chances that two Propagandhi albums both lose by exactly two votes in the same year? And, what else is there to say about Propagandhi that I haven’t already said a hundred times?
I can’t believe I’ve now heard over half of their discography—and seemingly—many of their most iconic albums are still up next for me.
Propagandhi albums aren’t fully digestible in one bite. Or even a few ...

Last month was our chance to revisit a band already in regular rotation around here, so this month, say HELLO to five new bands I have yet to hear a full album from!
I mean...I love how heavy and visceral Strung Out sound. They are my "heavier" Lagwagon love interest. Much the Same blew me away with a single track just like Jeff Rosenstock did. This particular album from The Flatliners was PunkNews.org

Going into Stranger Than Fiction, I assumed it would be another derivative of Generator: solid, but a greener version of the band’s sound I initially heard. I came in thinking The Process of Belief was safe and untouchable at the top spot.
Yeah. Nah.
This record really took me by surprise. Every track landed. No filler. For my next listen, I won’t be skipping a single song. That’d be a complete disservice to its pacing and flow. Wh...

We're back to regularly-scheduled programming! Last month’s poll featured ten bands that hadn’t yet had a full-album review, so today, it finally lined up for another Patreon repeat artists poll!

Between tomorrow's YouTube episode for "Quincentuple Your Money" and today's full-album analysis of Oh! Calcutta!, I've certainly ingested a hefty dose of feisty Chicago punk this weekend.
Admittedly, I was a tad indifferent about The Lawrence Arms at first, but it's almost impossible for me to listen to any rock album (especially with undivided attention) without it slowly winning me over in some way or another. You can't deny this band's cat...

I think the best possible way to "brute force" things into new musical territory is by way of these random drawing episodes—and there are even more opportunities when we do it full-album style with fifteen songs! 😎🫱...🎲💥
Some of the artists drawn were names I've seen requested for well over a year now, and that's exactly why I look forward to this format. Much like Mixtape, Vol. 3, this episode features a few big bands, many underground bands, an...

As this punk rock journey continues, the opportunity to go deeper on a single artist (versus going wider on the scene as a whole) really feels invaluable sometimes when looking at the big picture. And, when a band sticks around long enough to write music from a different emotional vantage point, I feel like I can start putting names with faces—literally, figuratively, and especially musically. These aren’t just “cool songs” I’ve reviewed anymore—these are bands I'm genuin...
