But WAIT! There's MORE!

Hi all!

First off, I want to thank you all. From those of you who've been with my on my journey since 2020 and I was posting the first chapters, to those of you who've started reading this week - thank you, all of you.

I have a million personal thank-yous I'd love to say and call people out by name for the fantastic things they've done for Beneath the Dragoneye Moons over the years, but one of the people who deserves the MOST credit would prefer to remain anonymous. I won't be shouting people out - but those of you who've helped me over the years? With suggestions, edits, discord, advice, everything?

I know who you are, I know your name, and I'm so grateful.

A shoutout I think is mandatory - thank you, Kanadaj and PengWing, for Royal Road. Without the site, I would've never gotten interested in web serials. Without the platform, Elaine's journey would've never existed.

I'll be doing an AMA tomorrow, roughly in the 9AM to noon EST block. I'm not sure when in that block I'll be starting or finishing, but that's the goal. For those of you who don't want to do the timezone conversion - it's roughly when the chapter comes out. Ask anything! All the secrets will be revealed, all the cards laid out.

7/5/2025 I'm writing this post. Almost exactly 5 years later.

Elaine's journey on Pallos has come to a close, and it's been quite emotional. And now, for what you're all here for.

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!

I'm going to take a sabbatical before I start working on Song (it'll mostly be reminding myself that I need to rest, not start the next chapter...), but I'm probably as reluctant to leave Elaine and Pallos behind as the rest of you.

I'm going to write one chapter a month of BTDEM.

At first it'll be some epilogue chapters. I've gotten a few requests. I've got a blooper chapter I'm slowly working on, taking ideas for it. Then I think I'll 'go back' a bit, and explore material from Countless Joyful Dawns. Do we want to see more of the Myraid Flame Phoenix Sect? Elaine adventuring? Other things? Let me know!

Also, fairies are up to nonsense, and perhaps we'll see Elaine in various non-canon crossovers. I have some hilarious ideas...

Iona-tier: I have quite a lot of art ordered, and it'll continue for quite a long time. No Iona-tier content of Song until characters are old enough.

I'm working with the web comic to post content from it on Patreon here and there. Hopefully we'll get some soon, I've been seeing some nice WIPs.

These additional chapters are going to be Patreon-only.

What's Next?

I'm currently working on Song of the Gift-Giver, AKA 'Selkie Writes Magic School'. A ROUGH blurb:

At the start of August (So people who've paid don't get screwed by a quick change) I'm going to open up the grandfathered Elaine tier. If you want to keep supporting me at a discounted rate, join it then! I'll be closing it before I start posting Song in earnest. Basically a reward for having faith in me as I transition stories and while I'm not posting.

Schedule!

We're in summer vacation in Norway, which means basically everything is closed, which is really messing with our normal schedule. That's fine - I'm using it as a break. School starts up in early August, and I'll probably start writing on my end on the 3rd week of August. I hope to get the first chapters up in September, either early or late, following the cadence of BTDEM almost exactly. The initial chapters will be a large drop to get people interested - I rarely find that people are interested in just 1-2 chapters of a new story, I'd rather get 30 chapters to you all at once and see if I can spark interest like that.

Unless my doctor tells me to take a break because of my shoulder. It's been hurting recently, and as I type all this it's starting to burn, so I might need to take a longer break for my physical health. Damnit...

What did I forget?

Circling back to Beneath the Dragoneye Moons for a moment! I've been talking with people in discord, and there's been a number of small suggestions for things I could include to make it a little better. For example, people want the FULL oath in the Beneath the Dragoneye Moons chapter. People want the LAST full stat sheet. etc. People have also had small edit ideas, and now that we've seen everything, please, tell me! I'm very happy to edit, polish, and make the entire thing just that much better.
