King of Games C23 Completing a game in a week
Added 2024-05-06 18:19:42 +0000 UTCShiro's gaze met his son's, Shinro's, as he posed the question, "Why bother risking everything on establishing your own company when you can simply inherit our family business?"
Shinro's expression softened, a helpless smile tugging at his lips. "Father, I understand the Suzuki Family business is both big and great," he began, "but I've always dreamt of starting my own venture. I want to be independent, to create something that's mine, something new." He glanced at his mother, Tomoko, who observed their exchange with a mix of pride and concern. "I want to prove myself, to show that I can succeed on my own merits."
Shinro turned to his parents, his determination evident in his eyes as he pleaded his case. His sisters, Ayako and Sonoko, watched the exchange with amusement in their eyes. He knew he had their support, but it was his parents' approval he needed the most.
Tomoko's hand on her husband's arm was all the reassurance Shinro needed. Her voice trembled slightly as she spoke, "Shinro's right, Shiro. Our son has always been ambitious. We can't hold him back from chasing his dreams, can we?"
Shinro bowed his head in gratitude, then looked at his father once more. "I know it's a risk, but I believe in this new company, KiShin. I'll work tirelessly to make it a success, I promise."
Shiro's expression softened. Finally, he relented, "Very well, go ahead with your KiShin venture. But know this, if you ever need help, you come to us, understood?"
Shinro breathed a sigh of relief and thanked them profusely.
A few hours later, with the help of the family's staff, Shinro began packing his belongings, preparing to move out of the family mansion and become independent once more. Sonoko watched him with a complicated expression.
"You're leaving again?" she asked, her voice tinged with both pride and sadness.
Shinro smiled, ruffling her hair affectionately.
Even though he wasn't the original Shinro, he could see how close the original Shinro were to Sonoko. "I'll be fine, Sonoko. I promise I'll visit often."

Shinro stepped into the newly renovated office space he had rented, his belongings already unpacked and placed neatly in the small bedroom connected to the main area. The room's transparent walls offered a breathtaking view of the cityscape below, reminding him of the ambition that brought him here.
In one corner stood his sleek, state-of-the-art computer, humming softly as it booted up, ready for the work ahead. Beside it, an inconspicuous-looking aquarium blended seamlessly into the modern decor. However, Shinro knew better. He knew it was the "Tiny World," a marvel that housed a vast 150 million square meter space within its seemingly small frame.
The ancient humans in the "Tiny World" progressed at a steady pace. The homo erectus had already begun to evolve into homo sapiens, albeit with some challenges posed by the giant insects and creatures that roamed the land and rivers. However, these early humans persevered, thanks to their crude weapons and their innate ability to work together.
In this miniature world, Shinro had chosen to accelerate the evolution of a specific tribe that had shown admiration for him, causing them to develop into homo sapiens more quickly than the rest. The majority of the ancient humans, however, remained as homo erectus, evolving at a much slower pace.
The homo erectus tribes, despite their larger numbers, were at a disadvantage against the resourcefulness and intelligence of the homo sapiens. The latter's ability to strategize and adapt to their environment gave them an edge in the harsh prehistoric world.
As time passed, the gap between the two groups widened, with the homo sapiens thriving and the homo erectus struggling to keep up.

Saito stepped out of the elevator and onto the floor where his new job at "KiShin" awaited him. The company's owner, a handsome young man named Shinro Suzuki, greeted the employees who had already arrived with a warm smile.
Saito couldn't shake the feeling that Shinro was just another rich kid, using his family's money to fund a reckless business venture.
The other new recruits, all of whom had game development or related backgrounds, seemed to share his skepticism as they exchanged glances.
As the orientation began, Saito decided to reserve his judgment until he saw what this new company, KiShin, had to offer.

After the introductions, Shinro cleared his throat and motioned to the middle-aged man beside him. "Allow me to introduce our video game development director, Konda Hiroki."
Konda bowed formally to the employees, his expression professional yet hinting at a spark of excitement.
Shinro had chosen Konda for his impressive resume, having worked as a Nintendo video game director before. According to Konda's story, he left the company due to a falling out with the executives, leading him to retire from the industry.
"Konda-san is already aware of our first project," Shinro announced, "and for our game developers, each of your workstations has a pre-installed game engine ready for you to use."
Turning to the artists, he continued, "For our talented artists, your stations are equipped with the latest drawing tablets and software. Your job will be to bring the world and characters to life."
Moving on to the writers, Shinro said, "To our gifted writers, your desks have been stocked with notepads, pens, and a library of classic literature. Our first game's script is already written, but it's up to you to refine it and make it your own."
Turning to the testers, he added, "And to our diligent testers, your stations are equipped with consoles and multiple screens. Your responsibility is to ensure our game is bug-free and enjoyable for all future players."
With that, Shinro dismissed the employees, and they soon discovered their first project was a game called "Minecraft."
Konda's eyes shone with enthusiasm as he distributed files containing the game's development direction, prepared by Shinro himself. "The game concept our young CEO has envisioned is truly groundbreaking," Konda explained, "so everyone, I expect nothing but your best to bring this game to life."
The employees nodded, sensing Konda's renewed enthusiasm and passion for game development. The "Minecraft" project reminded him of his early days at Nintendo, when everything was fresh and exciting.
As time flew by, the employees, including Saito, couldn't help but be surprised by the professional yet considerate work environment. They had expected to be overworked and abused, as was common in the industry, but Shinro proved them wrong.
Just when they thought they couldn't be more shocked, Shinro emerged from his office and politely reminded them of the time. "It's closing time, everyone. Please don't forget to rest," he said with a warm smile.
The employees exchanged disbelieving glances, assuming their boss was just being an hypocrite. However, their skepticism vanished when the computers they were working on shut down automatically, giving them no choice but to pack up and leave.
As the employees filed out of the office, Shinro returned to his own, checking the progress of "Minecraft" on the system. To his delight, the game was already at 20% completion. "Looks like hiring more people was a great choice," he thought with a satisfied smile.
Days flew by, and in just a week, the KiShin team had a playable version of "Minecraft" ready for testing. The testers dove in, their faces lit up with wonder as they explored the blocky world before them. They marveled at the freedom the game offered, the ability to build anything their hearts desired, and the thrill of surviving against the monsters that emerged at night.
Saito, who had been skeptical at first, found himself immersed in the game, losing track of time as he mined resources, crafted tools, and built a crude shelter. The game was addictive, and he couldn't wait to see what else it had in store.
